Et même la marionnette dans Sesame Street (1972) : Count von Count

What’s the story? Okay, this is kind of a cheat. Count von Count isn’t actually called Dracula, but he’s so clearly modelled on Bela Lugosi’s portrayal of the great vampire that I couldn’t just leave him out. The character appears to be based on the idea that vampires are obsessed with counting – folklore from all over the world has it that if a vampire encounters a pile of rice or other grains, they won’t be able to do anything until they’ve counted it all. The Count loves to, er, count.

"The Vampyre" is a short work of prose fiction written in 1819 by John William Polidori. The work is often viewed as the progenitor of the romantic vampire genre of fantasy fiction. The work is described by Christopher Frayling as "the first story successfully to fuse the disparate elements of vampirism into a coherent literary genre." (Frayling, Christopher (1992), Vampyres : Lord Byron to Count Dracula, p108)

The plot
The Vampyre: A Tale tells the tale of Aubrey, a young gentleman who has just started his life in the top social circles of London, eager to form connections with the rich and famous. He finds this quite difficult to begin with, as the whole world of society balls and social intrigue seems quite daunting, but he soon becomes friends with the social lion of the moment, Lord Ruthven, and his status in life rockets sky-high.
Despite the pleas of his family not to get involved with a notorious libertine, Aubrey travels to Greecewith Ruthven for a short holiday, where he meets and falls in love with local girl Ianthe.
However, as is the case in so many stories, something is not quite right.
Ianthe tells Aubrey of a hideous creature of near-immortal life, known by the locals as a 'vampyre'. The vampyre is an undead being who feeds upon the blood of the living to satiate his thirst and to carry on living for centuries longer, never getting older. The description that she gives of a typical vampyre is strangely similar to that of his travelling companion, Lord Ruthven. However, Aubrey shrugs this off.
Until the deaths become too regular to be coincidence.
There is a monster loose in the top social circles of Europe. Young girls and women are vanishing without a trace. Nobody is safe, and Aubrey must protect his sister from a dark evil or she may be the next on the list to slake the thirst of a vampyre.

4. Les Vampires, un phénomène moderne

Le début des années 70 a vu renaître le phénomène "vampire" avec les ouvrages d'Anne Rice et notamment ses Vampire Chronicles.

Interview with the Vampire (1976)
A vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac tells his 200-year-long life story to a reporter referred to simply as "the boy". In 1791, Louis is a young indigo plantation owner living in Louisiana. Distraught by the death of his pious brother, he seeks death in any way possible. Louis is approached by a vampire named Lestat de Lioncourt, who desires Louis' company. Lestat turns Louis into a vampire and the two become immortal companions.

Interview with the Vampire (Neil Jordan, 1994)

The Vampire Diaries is a young adult vampire horror series of novels created by L. J. Smith. The story centers on Elena Gilbert, a young high school girl who finds her heart eventually torn between two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore.

The series was originally published in 1991-1992 and it revolves around Stefan Salvatore and Elena Gilbert as the two main protagonists. The first three novels in the original series (The Awakening, The Struggle, and The Fury) all feature Stefan and Elena as the narrators of the series, while the last book in the original series, Dark Reunion, is from Bonnie McCullough's viewpoint.
